Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester, to 27 September 2020

An exhibition that looks at the utopian strain in English art, dating back to te publication of Thomas More's seminal Utopia in 1516. The search for a pastoral idyll was a much-loved theme of English artists, including those active in the 19th century, such as Samuel Palmer, John Constable, Walter Crane and J.M.W. Turner (pictured).
