A curious and refreshing exhibition that looks at the evolving depiction of "work" in 19th century art. As the influence of realism gathered pace throughout 19th century art, so the everyday experience of people whilst making a living became an increasingly popular motif. Work is included by artists such as Gauguin, Degas, Welden Hawkins and Paul Signac (pictured), to name but a few.
